Turns out it was a leaf, ten minutes later, here’s the hand-drawn bird tote

Turns out the rare sighting was foliage, and this black canvas tote bag remembers it in hand-drawn letters: It was a leaf. I watched it for ten minutes. A camper rests in a camp chair with feet in a rocky stream while the leaf floats off. One leaf, zero birds.

Useful for carrying a field notebook, snacks and a spare pair of socks for creek days. Nice pick for a birding friend, a nature camp counselor or the neighbor with three feeders. Notebook in, socks on top. The notebook entry just says leaf, underlined twice.
